Laundry Attendant

Job Title: Laundry Attendant Pay: Location: Crystal River, FL Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Summary Cleans and stores resort linens in a timely, organized manner to ensure that resort’s laundry and linen needs are met.
Job Responsibilities Receives soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors.
Sorts all articles by kind, color and degree of soil.
Inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items.
Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers’ guidelines.
Ensures necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles.
Ability to keep open and effective communication with fellow coworkers, other departments, and leadership Create a positive work environment by providing exceptional customer service to staff, members, and guests Maintain an acceptable level of quality control in supplying linen for all the units assigned according to the Room Standards for Plantation.
Ensure all cleaning and sanitation procedures for laundry items meet and/or exceed Resort standards Properly fold, pack and deliver linen/terry to the support of the Housekeeping staff.
Sort, fold, pack, and deliver cleaned linens and uniforms in a timely manner Sort dirty linen, identifying any stained or damaged linen Isolate any items that require pre-soaking Properly weigh all wash loads Ensure that proper program settings are used in accordance with linen type Keep accurate count of linen being sent out to laundry service Establish priorities to create a good workflow resulting in a more efficient laundry operation Inform supervisor of supply shortages Must keep area free of debris and maintain work space Follow all changes in schedule as directed by management Attend all required meetings when applicable Ensure all safety procedures are being followed Folds clean linens and stores as appropriate.
Operates linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines.
Assists in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.
Informs supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Follows company policies and procedures.
Qualifications Position requires flexibility in scheduling to work AM/PM shifts, weekends & holidays.
Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Must have attention to detail, strong ability to multi-task, and time-management skills.
Housekeeping and/or laundry experience of at least 3 months is required.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required Valid driver’s license is required.
Thorough understanding of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Will be required to work with common household chemicals.
Position requires frequent operating of wash machines and dryers, other machines may be utilized such as folding machines and pressers.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English Must be at least 18 years of age Must possess good communication skills, oral and written.
Must be able to work alone with little or no supervision.
Strong organizational and guest services skills are required.
Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Must be able to complete repetitive motions throughout shift such as lifting bending, twisting, climbing, etc.
Must be able to lift, push, carry, and pull at least 50lbs.
Exposure to various types of Florida weather conditions including: sunshine, heat, and rain.
