Job Summary
Local college is seeking candidates for General Education for Nutrition.
Bachelor?s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics with 18 credits in Nutrition required.
Two years teaching experience preferred.
Work experience will be considered in place of teaching experience
Positions are filled on an as-needed basis.
The General Education Faculty is responsible for developing a healthy and caring environment that offers a variety of options and opportunities for active participation of students in the learning process.
Major responsibilities of faculty include teaching, professional development and college services.
Responsibilities
The following are the responsibilities of the General Education Faculty, but are not limited to the following tasks;
Teaching
Ability to plan and prepare course content and curriculum, utilizing assessment and effective methodologies of instruction for the enhancement of learning.
Maintains expertise in field of study and teaching pedagogy.
Assists in the development and planning of the departmental course schedule.
Utilizes technology in teaching and communication with students and the delivery of instruction.
Communication
Participates in enrollment management activities and sharing of professional expertise with colleagues and students beyond the classroom.
Provides support and in some cases provides the leadership for student recruitment, marketing, and in general activities that ?build? a program.
Administration
Maintains active participation in professional organizations as appropriate.
Supports student activities, include course and career guidance to students, mentor, and foster a love of learning.
Gives required forms and papers to Registrar?s Office within the specified timeframe.
Ensures College compliance with regulatory boards including licensure and accreditation.
Other duties as assigned.
Licenses/Certifications:
Maintains Continuing Educations Hours as required in the active field or discipline.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics with 18 credits in Nutrition required.

Qualifications:
Preferred to have experience teaching in an on-line environment.
Experience with presenting information to both small and large groups.
Demonstrates the ability to achieve goals, influence others, and meet deadlines.
Proven strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, & PowerPoint).
Must be able to multitask.
Essential Physical Skills:
Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction).
Acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Ability to access input and retrieves information from a computer.
Environmental Conditions:
Works inside a classroom/laboratory environment.
Due to the hybrid?blended class, physical presence required at least 3 times / semester.
