Responsible for maintaining and repairing power landscaping and field maintenance equipment and vehicles such as utility truck, tractor, riding mower, push mower, edger, weed eater, leaf blower, air compressor, pressure washer, and chain saw.
Reports to the Field Maintenance and Landscaping Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and oiling parts, honing cylinders, and tuning ignition systems.
Test and inspect engines to determine malfunctions, to locate missing and broken parts, and to verify repairs, using diagnostic instruments.
Dismantle engines, using hand tools, and examine parts for defects; reassemble engines after repair or maintenance work is complete.
Repair or replace defective parts such as magnetos, water pumps, gears, pistons, and carburetors, using hand tools.
Grind, ream, rebore, and retap parts to obtain specified clearances, using grinders, lathes, taps, reamers, boring machines, and micrometers.
Adjust points, valves, carburetors, distributors, and spark plug gaps, using feeler gauges.
Record repairs made, time spent, and parts used.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 1 year previous experience and/or training involving power equipment repair and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
