*Job summary *
The 911 Engineer is responsible for installation, general service, system emergencies, and customer service within a geographic region.
*Summary of essential job functions *
• Responsibilities include the installation and maintenance of systems.
• Performs general maintenance at PSAPs.
• Responsible for any system emergencies that may arise.
• May act as liaison for sales related activities for assigned accounts.
• Manages all installation, maintenance and project management activities for assigned accounts.
• Responsible for assigned accounts customer satisfaction.
• When problems arise, respond to issue within contract response times.
• Immediately investigates any problem with customers, telephone companies, PSAPs, ALI database provider and all other entities.
Determines the solution and implements plan to correct issue to meet customer’s expectation.
After solution is implemented, performs follow- up quality control testing with all concerned parties, ensuring successful resolution.
Completes trouble report and distributes according to policy, including notification of resolution to customer.
• Perform system upgrades for numerous CPE (Customer Premise Equipment), GIS Database, and VoIP systems.
This includes all software and hardware associated within each system and requires in depth knowledge of each piece of equipment.
• Performs related duties as required.
*Minimum requirements *
• Associate’s degree in Computer and Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent experience required.
*Abilities required *
• Self Motivated
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Strong technical background.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally with very specific data.
• Ability to travel and work on-call.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Knowledge of computer systems and software.
• To be able to be certified on the equipment that AK Associates services.
