Foundry Tech Grinding/Scrapyard
As a Foundry Tech in the Grinding/Scrapyard department it will be part of your responsibilities to set up, operate, and tend grinding and related tools that remove excess material or burrs from surfaces, sharpen edges or corners, to ready all metal work pieces.
Essential Job Functions:
Grind metal workpieces to prescribes specifications
Cutting and breaking down scrap metal to be re-purposed
Using power tools to grind, cut, remove metal pieces
Lift and position workpieces manually and with hoists.
Assembles products and parts to meet production targets
Follows production guidelines and specifications
Operates and maintains machinery and production line equipment
Monitors the production line and removes faulty products
Participates in ongoing on-the-job training to adhere to company policies
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Assess to ensure molds are free from defects
Pack sand molds and pour molten metals into sand molds
Break up sand molds and slag
Ability to apply mold coating, ramming/packing sand molds, closing, furnace operations, and shakeout
Skim slag from surface of molten metal
Remove gates, sprues and other projections from castings
Clean castings and patterns
Follow oral and written instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects
Ensure work area is clean and safe
Keeping equipment maintenance logs
Collaborating with other departments to complete production orders on time
Complying with internal policies and industry regulations

Requirements:
Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
Fabricating experience preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

Ability to work scheduled hours and comply with the company policies
Required Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Physical capability to properly handle tooling and safely set up large pieces; including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning products.
Must be able to stand, sit and bend for long periods of time.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing environment: loud noise levels, high temperatures, dirt and sand,
Required PPE: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, and/or respirators.
