com/careers/leesburgflorida \*\*\** he purpose of the class is to perform routine manual work in the Wastewater Collection division.
This class is responsible for service work such as digging trenches, cleaning ditches; assists with installation of fixtures such as pipes, valves, fittings, and manholes; landscape, road, sidewalk, driveway restoration and other outdoor work.
Completes logs or routine records.
The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision.
Weekend, holiday and after-hours work may be required, as well as after-hours response and emergencies.
*Requires a high school diploma or GED.
Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
Must obtain the following certifications within 18 months of hire (City will provide training): TTC approved certification, Confined Space Entry, and Class C Wastewater Collections Certification.
Must obtain a Class B CDL permit w/tanker within 3 months of hire and license with no restrictions within 6 months of employment.
This position requires employees to reside within a 20-mile radius of the city limits of Leesburg due to on call rotation requirement.
* *The level below requires a high school diploma, GED, and formal training, special courses, or self-educated equivalent to satisfying completion of one year of college educated or specialized advanced training in the Stormwater field.
Must live within a 20-mile radius of the city limits of Leesburg due to on-call rotation requirement.
May mentor and assist in training of less experienced operations staff.
Maintain compliance using experience and best management practices.
Minimum requirements are as follows:* *Apprentice - $16.

23 per hour* * Operates vehicles such as trucks to haul people or material to job sites.
* Loads and unloads materials such as gravel, dirt, timber, chemicals, or other materials, tools, and equipment.
* Performs maintenance _duties as assigned_; assists with setting up forms and pouring concrete, serves as traffic flagger on street or utility projects.
* Maintains outdoor areas by cutting grass, pruning trees and bushes, raking leaves and debris, and other maintenance tasks.
* Performs utility service work such as digging trenches, cleaning ditches; assists with installation of fixtures such as pipes, manholes, and sewer lines.
* Performs maintenance functions such as greasing and maintaining equipment, and replacing valves; performs light repairs and installations as directed.
* Maintains indoor areas such as shop, facilities and office areas, performing light maintenance such as painting and minor repairs.
* This position is subject to assigned on call rotation.
*Technician "C"* - *$19.
73 - $28.
35 per hour* * Operates specialized mobile equipment to support City operations such as utilities construction and repair, pipe laying, concrete laying, and other specialized operations.
* Assists with traffic control and provides information to public if required.
* Inspects equipment and performs minor maintenance; reports malfunctions to supervisor.
* Troubleshoots and repairs the utility infrastructure and associated facilities * Operates hand and power tools and equipment to support maintenance operations such as weed cutting, debris removal, grass cutting, digging or filling, and other maintenance tasks.
* Trains, advises, and guides less experienced workers.
* Ensures work sites are safe by using proper procedures and accessing advanced warning signs, cones and safety equipment.
* Performs minor administrative tasks such as completing job-related logs and forms, answering phones, or providing information.
* Operates vehicles such as trucks to haul people or material to job sites.
* Loads and unloads materials such as gravel, dirt, timber, chemicals, or other materials, tools, and equipment.

* Operates heavy equipment to transport materials, tools, equipment, and personnel to job sites and to remove debris or other materials from job sites in support of construction maintenance and/or repair of infrastructure.
* Must perform maintenance and repair of utility infrastructure.
* Troubleshoot, repairs and/or replaces utility facilities and fixtures as required.
* Operates specialized heavy equipment to support City operations such as sewer jet & cleaning truck, video inspection equipment (camera truck), grouting equipment, street paving, cave in repair, pipe laying, concrete laying, pumping equipment, and other specialized operations.
* Performs assigned duties as needed and requested.
* Guides others, making field decisions affecting subordinates.
* Assists with traffic control and provides information to public if required.
* Inspects equipment and performs minor maintenance; reports malfunctions as needed.
