Overview
We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team at our facility located in Ocala, FL, 34474.
The ideal candidate will have experience with forklifts, electrical troubleshooting skills, PLC wiring experience, mechanical troubleshooting skills, electrical schematics, and blueprint reading.
GENERAL SUMMARY
Apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operations electrical control equipment and circuitry.
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
· Calculate bending radius and install ridged conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and
· Knowledge and experience of programmable logic controllers.
(PLC)
· Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
· Calculate power factor for transformers, motors, electrical heaters, wire sizes, and fuse sizes using OHM Law formulas.
· Tests malfunctioning machinery to diagnose malfunction.
· Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, and motors, and position sensing devices.
· Troubleshoot and repair/replace faulty electronic components.
· Plans and executes layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, cable trays, and armored cables according to electrical schematic, wiring diagram, and mechanical drawings.
· Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
· Other duties may be assigned.
SKILLS
· Knowledge of installation, operation and repair of compressed air equipment is preferred or other industrial equipment.
· Knowledgeable of electrical test equipment such as VOM, MAGA, variable voltage meters, oscilloscope, simulators and test jigs.
· Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable and well organized.
Basic PC skills, including experience using MS Word, Excel or equivalent.
· Problem solving and analytical skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree or Technical Certification in Electrical/Electronics, holder of Journeyman Electrician Card, Electricians License; and/or three to six years job related experience with electronic equipment and troubleshooting.
Must be able to understand complicated wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, ladder diagrams, color codes, NEMA ratings, specifications, charts, tables and formulas.
Must be able to use a wide variety of hand tools and computerized equipment.
PLC and or microprocessor knowledge is helpful.
Must have experience using various electronic test equipment.
