WHO YOU ARE
The Industrial Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing systems and processes in industrial settings.
This role involves analyzing existing workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and developing innovative solutions to increase efficiency, productivity, and safety.
The Industrial Automation Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including industrial engineers, Manufacturing, Distribution, Logistics, EHS, and Maintenance to integrate automation technologies into industrial processes.
WHERE YOU WILL WORK Onsite, in our ClosetMaid Ocala facility.
A 600,000 square feet manufacturing & distribution facility.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Analyze Existing Processes by conducting thorough evaluations of existing industrial processes, including workflow analysis, time studies, and identification of bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
Develop conceptual and detailed designs for automation systems, including robotics, machinery, conveyor systems, and control systems, ensuring they align with operational requirements.
Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Develop and implement control programs, interfaces, and communication protocols for automated systems, integrating them with existing manufacturing and control systems.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation enhancements, propose and implement changes to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
Ensure that automated systems meet relevant safety standards and comply with industry regulations and guidelines.
Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to operational teams and maintenance personnel, enabling them to operate and maintain automated systems effectively.
Create comprehensive documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and reports, to support system design, implementation, and troubleshooting activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including industrial engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of automation systems into existing processes.
REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of automation technologies, including robotics, control systems, PLCs, HMI, and SCADA.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in industrial automation, such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagram.
Familiarity with industrial standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements related to automation and machinery.
Experience with CAD software for designing automation systems, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Project management skills to oversee automation projects from concept to completion, ensuring deliverables are met within deadlines and budgets.
Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic industrial environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Some travel may be required.
