We are currently hiring for the following Social Media and Marketing Intern positions for our 2024 Summer programs:
* *2024 College Edge program*
* *2024 Summer for Success program*
*College Edge* provides students with the critical direction and markers they need to restart – or start – their college journey.
College Edge is designed to provide a brief practical approach to college life to enhance student self-awareness, strategies, and application of skills across five major areas that often lead to student attrition at college.
Students will leave with not just an understanding of how to improve their college-level skills, but how to apply newly developed strategies to their specific collegiate environment so they enter, or re-enter, feeling confident.
The *Social Media and Marketing Intern* will work with the Director of Summer Programming supporting all programmatic efforts.
As a pivotal member of the team, the Social Media and Marketing Intern will assist with social media posting, photography and videoing as well as periodic e-newsletters to families through the program.
The Communications Intern reports directly to the Director of Summer Programming, and works closely with the Executive Director of Enrollment Marketing, Communications and Systems at Beacon College.
*Salary Information:* * $750 (distributed over 2 pay-periods) * On-campus meals * Weekend Trips * Housing for the duration of the summer program *Employment Terms:* June 17 – July 5, 2024 *Essential Job Functions:* * Participation in all aspects of the program, while documenting (videos/photos) student activities and interactions.
* Develop, create and publish e-newsletters to be sent to families of students throughout the Summer for Success program.
* Actively post on Summer for Success social media pages to highlight participants activities * Design and facilitate a student club or organization about marketing and/or social media * Attend all assigned meetings, including pre-program training (June 17-21) * Support the facilitation of opening day (June 22) * Attend the final ceremonial dinner (July 1) and create an ‘end of program’ slideshow.
* Create a video of promotion for the following year at the conclusion of the program.
* Communicate any student-related issues to direct supervisors * Understand all program policies, expectations, and procedures * All other duties as assigned *Summer for Success* aims to give college-bound high school students who learn differently the skills, confidence and preparation to successfully transition from high school.
Through academic and residential programming, students work towards increasing self-awareness, problem-solving, and social pragmatic skills to proactively determine the optimal college environment.
